They look wonderful! What’s the texture like? Is it crumbly like a “real” scone?
made these this morning with a few modifications. i have deeply missed my favorite muffin – an orange-nutmeg kind filled with white flour and sugar. so i used this recipe as a vehicle to recreate that, and it turned out perfectly! i followed all of the amounts exactly, but subbed raisins for the pecans, and added the zest of one orange, an outrageous amount of freshly grated nutmeg and a sprinkle of celtic sea salt. they’re fantastic – crunchy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside. my kids and i really enjoyed them on this cold morning.
Michelle – You are a genius! I love your recipes. I’ve made all your brownies, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, 3-ingredient pancake, pear pecan crumble and now this. They’re all so perfectly good and taste delicious! So glad I found you.
Hi Michelle~
Found your site many months ago after a celiac diagnosis (preceded by a painful GI crisis). I’ve been so pleased with every recipe I’ve tried and it’s helped change my thinking about food and healing the body. It hurt my heart to think I could never enjoy the scones I used to make~those days are over, sister! This scone recipe rocks and I can’t wait to try different variations with other ingredients. (The chicken broth is a true life saver for me, also.) Thank you for your efforts and willingness to share.

Made these this morning with exact amounts in recipe they were sooo delicious! Also added a zest of one orange and raisins and instead added walnuts ( didn’t have pecans) they came out divine!! Nice crunch n crumble on top and moist inside.. Thanks for all your awesome recipes you are truly talented in what u do. My husband loves your recipes (especially your brownies and basic chocolate chip cookies) and he is not gluten sensitive at all..
